About the Commission
The Grantham Floods Commission of Inquiry commenced on 11 May 2015 by Order in Council.
Mr Walter Sofronoff QC was appointed as Commissioner. He was required to make full and careful inquiry into the flooding of the Lockyer Creek between Helidon and Grantham on 10 January 2011, with specific reference to any natural or man-made features of the landscape which could have altered or contributed to the flooding as outlined in the Terms of Reference.
The Commissioner provided his written report to the Premier on 8 October 2015.

Commissioner Walter Sofronoff QC was first called to the Bar in 1977 and took silk in 1988.
Commissioner Sofronoff served as Queensland’s Solicitor-General from 2005-2014.
