Earthworks at Grantham Quarry

The Grantham Floods Commission of Inquiry (the Commission) has engaged Golder Associates to undertake geotechnical work to support the Commission’s investigations.

During the week of 15 to 19 June 2015 Golder Associates will undertake some minor earthworks at Grantham Quarry, including the excavation of a number of small pits. 

The investigations will help to establish how the embankments surrounding the quarry at the time of the 10 January 2011 flood were formed and how they might have performed during the floods.

The investigation is being conducted with the cooperation of quarry owner Boral.
